OOTP does not publish a sim in one click. Three separate actions have to run, and skipping one is the most common source of "why is the site not updating?" questions in a league.
Run them in this order after every sim.
1. Upload the league file
Online League Functions → Upload league files
Updates /leaguefile. This is what managers pull with File → Online League →
Download latest league file. Until you do this, nobody can play the new week.
2. Create and upload reports
Online League Functions → Create reports and FTP upload → Upload report files now
Updates /reports/html, which drives your league's public page — standings,
news, transactions, and leaderboards.
This is the step people miss. It is a completely separate action from uploading the league file. If your managers have the new sim but your league page still shows last week's standings, this is why.
3. Import team exports before the next sim
Online League Functions → Import all teams from server
Pulls each manager's team_*.ootp file out of /exports and into your master
game, so their moves count.
Run this immediately before you sim, not right after the last one. Anything a manager exports after your import will not be included.
The full cycle
| Who | Action |
|---|---|
| Commissioner | Sim the week |
| Commissioner | Upload league file |
| Commissioner | Create + upload reports |
| Managers | Download latest league file |
| Managers | Play, then export team via FTP |
| Commissioner | Import all teams from server |
| Commissioner | Sim the next week |
Making it harder to forget
- Do steps 1 and 2 back to back, every time, as one habit. They are separate clicks but they belong together.
- Check your public league page after uploading. If the date on it is not today's sim, you skipped step 2.
- Set a deadline and announce it. "Exports in by Sunday 8pm, sim Monday morning" is easier to run than chasing people individually.
